The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) Canada is shocked and outraged at the death of Aqsa Parvez. May God have mercy on the soul of the deceased girl. We have confidence in the Canadian justice system to prosecute and punish the perpetrator of this crime. Murder is the most serious of crimes and there is no justification in Islam for parents to take the lives of their children or to harm them in any way. We urge any Muslim who is the victim of domestic violence, or who fears harm from a member of his or her family, including a parent, to seek immediate protection or to call 911.
